The error "XML markup cannot be inserted in the specified location" often occurs when Word’s proofing language is incorrectly set, causing LEAP’s XML fields to fail.

Follow these steps to fix it:

  1. Open Word > File > Options > Language.

  2. Under Preferred proofing language, set to English (Canada).

  3. Remove other conflicting language variants if needed.

  4. Click OK and restart Word.
